Proud to be An American
Reminiscing on thoughts of being free and living in America, I thought of this song, “Proud to be an American”, which we used to sing in school as I was growing up. At that time it didn’t mean quite as much to me as it does now. I am proud to be an American. I am thankful for what God is doing in our nation.
God loves America. The past couple of days, I have been more encouraged than ever. Listening to President Trump’s speech to Veterans at a rally in Washington, his commitment and love for America and for our veterans came across so genuinely. I was thrilled to hear his words that we will again have prayer before football games and prayer in the schools. Hearing of the Executive order to reverse the Johnson amendment, thus giving our pastors freedom to preach the truth politically without fear inspired much hope for our pastors.
Reading the article in July Believer’s Voice of Victory by Kenneth Copeland encouraged me even more. He wrote about his prayers about our nation and what the Lord has shown him.
“I’ve seen some things in times of prayer that have absolutely thrilled me. I’ve seen this nation coming tot he place where it’s fulfilling God’s original plan. I’ve seen it by the Spirit, overflowing with an outpouring of the gospel of Jesus Christ that’s so outlandish it’s affecting nations all over the earth.” ~ Kenneth Copeland
Here are two of the main points of the article Kenneth Copeland shared:
- “No matter how many messes the politicians may have made, God can straighten them all out. MT 19:26
- He simply needs us to pray and believe He will do it. 2 Chron 7:14″
Kenneth encourages each of us as believers
to set a watch over our mouth and begin to see a land that is being healed. Begin to see a nation that truly is being born again.
