When I first began my study to find the 7 Secrets for Living Long and Living Strong in 2008, I thought there was one factor in Longevity that we could not influence no matter what we did. That one factor was our genetic makeup.
It was indeed surprising and thrilling to find that this factor can also be addressed in a positive way.
Lesson four of the Blue Zone Power Nine is about drinking red wine. They found that red wine has many beneficial properties. Researchers warned that consistency and moderation is the key to the benefits. “Having a glass of wine with a meal creates an event, and thus makes it more likely you’ll eat more slowly.” ~Dan Buettner.
but wait is there any other alternative…..
Dr. Brouse, a well respected natural health practitioner in Portland, Oregon, does caution us that the use of red wine (or any other alcoholic beverage) can be a slippery slope. He states, “the ethel alcohol in red wine usually is a detriment rather than a benefit.”
What Can We Do?
