Carter is four. He loves to help me in the office. John (Papa) picked him up from school on Thursday and he came by for a few minutes eager to work with me. John was doing some paperwork at his desk on some fine print pages and wearing his reading glasses. Carter inquired as to why he was wearing those and he explained that they were reading glasses.
I was printing out some pages for an appointment coming up and my ink cartridge on the printer was just about out of ink. As he loves to do, Carter was retrieving each page as they printed and handing them to me. Forgetting that he is not old enough yet to read, I asked him to be sure and read the page that was printing (to be sure I still had ink). He looked at me a little funny when I said that, then he ran over to Papa’s desk and grabbed the glasses and put them on and ran back to check on (read) the paper.
Of course, what else would reading glasses be for but to help one read:)
