Don't Close the Door by Worrying
Jesus gave us a command to “Not Worry”. If He did so, that means it must be something very important in life. And it must mean there is a way to escape and overcome worry. Let’s see what He told us.
Matthew 6:25 "Therefore I tell you, STOP being perpetually
uneasy (anxious and worried) about your life..."
Worry Carries a Penalty
We want to always have the door open for God’s blessings to flow to us. Sadly, worry closes the door. Worry is a by-product of the spirit of fear. Fear and its accompanying spirit of worry are not from God. They originate from our enemy, satan.
As born-again believers, we don’t have to fall for these illegal spirits in our life. However, if we do not know who we are in Christ Jesus, they will march in and try to take over. God has already done His part. We also have a part to play. He tells us to “Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” We must learn our authority given to us by Jesus Christ. This is called “renewing our mind”. Then, we open our mouth and instruct fear and worry to leave. Why not start now with baby steps as we capture thoughts and perfect this habit of refusing worry. You will be so very glad you did.
Happy New Year to You. I know your Christmas time was likely as busy as ours. Although I began joyfully preparing even before Thanksgiving; alas, the last few days before Christmas turned into a rush. My prayer is that you had this few weeks to enjoy your family and reflect on good memories. It is always a choice, and sometimes a hard one when there have been disappointments and losses through the year. May God’s peace and comfort surround you.
We were ever so blessed with many family members here for Christmas Eve dinner, and blessed again on Christmas Day with added family members present at Brennon’s. Weeks before Christmas were especially exciting with grandson, Austin, marrying his college sweetheart, Diana, followed by grandson, Braden, and Emily receiving their first baby and making us Great-Grandparents. Children are a reward from the Lord. Baby Asher is certainly that.
One of our biggest blessings this year has been the decision to go to Eagle Mountain Church in Fort Worth. Although we have followed the teachings of KCM.org ministries for decades; we always felt it was surely too far to drive there for church. It wasn’t and isn’t. We have learned so much just in the short couple of months we have been there.
At this time of the year, I love to think on my Gratitudes of the past year. I usually list 10, but this year I’m still adding at 25. God has so abundantly blessed us.
Prophesy tells us that 2025 will be the year we come alive: as a nation, as a family, in our health, our faith, our finances. We each must pray and declare this into existence for our own lives and it will be so. Thank you Jesus.
Happy New Year!
