Our 60th Wedding Anniversary
60 Years of Marriage June 13th, 2024
John and I celebrated 60 years of marriage this summer by having a dinner dance for our family and many close friends.
God has so blessed our marriage as we have learned to trust Him with our life, our health, our children/grandchildren and our provision. Growing older is a joy if you have your health and mobility. We’ve learned from the Word of God that God wants us strong and healthy all of our days. Living to 100 is one of our goals. Living long is a gift to each of us. However, living long and strong doesn’t happen automatically. It does take knowledge and action. This website is dedicated to teaching the simple baby steps for a “living long” journey.
“As your days, so shall your strength be.” Deut 33:25
We were almost overwhelmed by the goodness of God seeing how perfectly everything of the evening went together. Our family and our LifeTeam pitched in to make what looked like an impossibility possible.
So many of our close friends and almost all of our entire family came. Our oldest grandson (Austin in the blue stripe shirt) was our MC. Others graciously helped in the parking lot, helping ladies up the walkway, greeting, registering guests. Our two youngest escorted guests to their correct tables.
Carter (with the curly hair) helped with everything from loading and decorating to helping John and grandson, Nathan, chase a large group of our balloons down Beltline Road when they tried to fly away.
Lifeteam friends gave up their afternoon to help with all the decorating. Miss Kim from dance was our amazing organizer and decorator. Another dancing friend, Terry Quon, created the exquisite table cards and Master Seating chart.
Friends from all walks of our life came: our Murphy Lifeteam Warriors, our Crossfit Legends, Long Time Friends from far away places, and our closest Dancing Friends (4 tables).
Ben dela Vega, our dance instructor, had worked with John and I with great patience and skill to prepare a Bolero showcase dance.
Tye and Noot made the evening perfect with their music and also their time and skill in changing the words to the Bolero song we chose.
How we Thank the Lord for His promises and His goodness.
